Alt Summit- What I wore and what to leave at home
I just want to start out with sharing how much I loved Alt Summit. I loved all of the people I met and new friends I made. The fashion that these ladies shared, amazing. I can’t wait to bring my most colorful items next year.

What I wore At the Constant Contact Booth There was women in bright colored kimonos, amazing patterned dresses, and some in their comfy clothes. The best thing was it didn’t matter what you wore, everyone was welcome. From dresses to comfy clothes you fit in no matter what you had and everyone was so fun and just happy to be there. I packed some of my more colorful items because I am not a colorful person. So this was a great opportunity to share some bright pieces.
I am going to share all the fun items I had with me and let you know what to wear next year.
What to bring to Alt Summit:
- a jean jacket
- a lightweight jacket for comfy clothes
- colorful dresses, short and long
- romper
- jumpsuit
- comfy clothes for travel
- matching pjs
- sandals
- tennis shoes for travel

What I wore At the Ace Hotel Below are some of the pieces I took with me along with the amazon items I had to have
Amazon must haves for Alt Summit
- travel steamer
- packing cubes
- notepads and pens

What I wore At the Ace Hotel What you don’t need
What you don’t need is too much stuff. You will need an outfit for the day and if you have a dinner a second fun going out outfit. Make sure you have room in you bag to bring stuff back. The amount of swag was more then I counted on and I had to pay more to get my bag back home. This was not a bad thing because I was so excited to share with Piper when I got home and the items were a great addition. From notebooks to pens to water bottles, all stuff that are great to have extra of. Leave your stress and worry at home and enjoy meeting new people and bring some business cards, I went through more than I expected.
I am planning on doing several more articles about Alt Summit. There is so much information that I would love to share that it needs an entire separate blog post. From who I really loved for presenters and what I would like to see more of. Also from where to stay and what to do. I stayed at the Ace Hotel and loved it. It was just past the Saguaro which was the perfect distance to walk to in the morning. It was still cool enough to get in some exercise before it heats up. Main hotel was the Riviera Hotel and it was beautiful. I will cover the hotels in more detail in the upcoming posts.

Being sustainable is good for your wallet
Sustainability is one of those words that we keep hearing more and more nowadays. Sustainable living, sustainable farming and sustainable fashion is just a few examples. But what does it mean to be sustainable and why it is good for you and us, as society? I understand sustainability as a fine balance between finite resources that there are available and how we as humans choose to use them. We all heard horror stories from the fast-fashion industry where new clothing was being made at a huge cost to the environment and everyone directly involved in the process and it made me to become a bit more self-aware on how I made my purchasing decisions as a customer. That self-awareness led me to a few discoveries that I would like to share here:
- Buying second-hand fashion is not only sustainable but good for your wallet. Second-hand fashion is booming and that is positively impacting environment and helps to raise awareness that the we all as consumers can make the fashion industry more sustainable and environment friendly. I have recently ordered a bag myself from www.inseller.com, which trades in second hand luxury bags, and I am not only happy with my purchase that allowed me to save several hundred dollars but I am also satisfied that I could become a bit more sustainable.
- Make money by selling stuff that you no longer need. We all have loads of clothing, shoes and other unused items collecting dust in our closets. But do you know that while these items might be of no value to you, they still have value! List them on various resale platforms and you will be surprised that you can still make some cash of it! So extra cash for you and some karma points as well, as you will be helping the planet by increasing the lifecycle of your items! 😉
- Consume less. This one is simple. Just before you buy that latest mobile phone, shoes or even a car, just ask yourself, do you really need it? Consuming less is one of those things that has probably the biggest impact and I am currently working on making a habit by always asking myself if I really need that item before I go and buy it. Trust me, you will see that in quite a few cases the answer will simply be “No!”.
These are just a few examples that helped me to lead my life in a bit more sustainable fashion and also saved me some cash as well! If you have more tips, I will be happy to hear from you!

Valentines Day Ideas
Who doesn’t love a cute outfit for Valentines Day? I have always loved a cute outfit that is pink or red and has hearts on it. The cuter the better. Even when I didn’t have someone special I still loved the holiday. There just seems something magical about it. Here are a few cute ideas to get you in the mood for that fun day.
Even when you celebrate alone your never alone truly. Surround yourself with good friends, fur babies, and good cocktails. I have always had the best of friends, either to go to group dinners with or just to hang out on the couch that night. You don’t always need to have one special person when you can have many special people in your life. Enjoy the quiet moments as well as the loud ones.
