Home Refresh: making spaces you love to be in
I have been living in my home since 2006. I really can’t believe it has been that long. There have been several areas that really haven’t changed since then that desperately needed an update. With being at home during the current times it seemed like a perfect time for a change, a home refresh for sure. The room I am going to focus on in this article is the sitting area. Not sure why its called that mostly it is just a jump out of the kitchen where there is nothing really functional about it.
Sitting space before home refresh:
I have used it for the home of Christmas presents, the tree and other seasonal spaces. Most of the time it is just two chairs and a coffee table and maybe a basket or two. I have had the same two chairs since 2006. I changed out the coffee table a few years ago and love it still. It is a simple round seagrass coffee table that I found at an expensive furniture store and saved up for. This home refresh was long ago needed and I couldn’t wait to start.
So I knew the chairs had to go. Downstairs they went and I had decided that I would finally treat myself to a chair I have been wanting for years. The coveted egg chair. I decided that I wanted my spaces to be used. To find comfort in the areas of my house that no longer served me. To be able to cuddle up with a book or my kids and enjoy the space. Even if it was a costly chair. It was everything.
After driving to another town, it not fitting into my Tahoe. The employee helping me unbox the chair to fit it in. Taking it home and getting it put together. I could tell that this would now be an amazing space. I knew I wanted a boho clean vibe with lots of plants. Only problem is that I kill everything so faux plants it is. Ran over to Micheal that same day and found the most perfect lanterns and plants to finish off the space. Along with some new pillows and a blanket or two I knew we would be fitting over the chair.
Sitting space after home refresh:
We did just that. The first guest to find a comfy spot on the chair was Joe the cat. He immediately laid claim on the chair and cuddled up for a long nap. When my kids got home they were so excited and have enjoyed the chair since it became part of our home. Will and I read his books for school in the chair all cozy up. Piper does her Tiktoks in the chair or talks to friends. I host my zoom meetings from there and love it. This was a solid investment in my home and my family and we are all loving it.

Red Aspen Love Nails are better than dip
I have been getting my nails done for so long that when this all happened it was sad. My nails look horrible with nothing on them and polish does not fix it. I had to use acetone to take off what I had remaining and now I was left with a mess. So how do you fix a mess. The easiest way possible when you are a mom. Red Aspen Love Nails.

These nails by Red Aspen Love are so easy to put on and they are reusable. They can be taken off with warm Dawn dish soapy water. The glue can be cleaned off and you can wear them again. Wear them together as a set or mix and match the many different colors for a new look.
Red Aspen Love have several different lengths and shapes along with toes. Yes you can match your nails to your toes. I have not tried the toes but they look cute. I have so many of the colors mostly because Piper steals everything and I have to have many on hand. I love the white. They just look so pretty and just like dip. I love how elegant they look and that they will not hurt my nail bed.
Why I like them:
They are budget friendly, usually about 13-17 for a package and reusable. Each set comes with the glue, 24 nails in 12 sizes, a nail file and cuticle pusher. So you have everything you need it the tiny box. Application time is super quick and your done so fast. Glue is nontoxic and non-damaging. They say you can reuse them up to 5 times and wear is about 2 weeks.
Make sure you grab a couple of pairs so you can mix and match some items together. I love how they look mixed together and it is so pretty. Will get you some more photos soon.

Target Loungewear to get you through Quarantine
These are some much needed pieces to get you through quarantine. I love all the Target loungewear and need to be comfy. Mostly because I have been eating non stop because there is nothing stopping me. I need some duct tape, the only solution. Till then though, I have the solution. Comfy clothing to wear at home. Who doesn’t still want to look cute while they have zoom meetings and cleaning.
These Target Loungewear outfits are in stock and are all so comfy. I love the tie-dye of this first one and how soft it is. This top is oversized and very comfy. I am in a small. Paired with joggers that are also true to size, I am in a small.
The second target loungewear outfit is super comfy, cropped hoodie that I went up one size in a medium because no one wants to see my belly. Then I paired with the matching joggers that are in a small. Both are so comfy and I have been living in them.
The third Target loungewear outfit is pjs. I love navy and these are so soft and comfy. The pants are striped with pockets and have a wide leg to them. The top has an adorable little pocket and both are true to size. This is so pretty to just wear around the house and relax in.

I love being able to learn a new social and how it works and how to pursue it. Being able to create gives me such a outlet to share how much I love what I do.
